The Goldholly Story

Discovering a drink without compromise.

Imagine: a caffeinated plant that tastes good, is good for you, and is good for the planet.

It’s a revolutionary idea, with a simple answer.

During a trip to Texas in 2021, we stumbled upon yaupon holly, a little American plant with a lot of potential.

After years of additional research, it became obvious that yaupon needed a much bigger audience.

Bar chart comparing market size of yaupon holly, tea, and coffee in the USA. Coffee leads at $80 billion and tea at $15 billion, both imported, while yaupon holly is a small but growing domestic category grown entirely in the USA.

It's the beginning of something great.

Tea is a multiple billion-dollar industry in the USA. But this crop can cause deforestation, fertilizer runoff, and overseas shipping pollution.

Add in America's demand for water-intensive coffee. Or chemical-filled energy drinks & sugary sodas.

If even 1% of this demand turned to yaupon holly instead - what happens?
